March 23, 1897, a very significant historical event happened at the convent of the church when Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo and Gen. Mariano Trias took their oaths as president and vice president of Philippine Revolutionary Government in front of the Holy cross after their election at the Tejeros Convention. It was witnessed by Fr. Cenon Villafranca who's priest of the church that time.
